Autumn Activities

I am finally posting some of my fall photos. I am not looking forward to the snowy season... hopefully it will be a mild winter.

The boyfriend, Steven, and I went to Shryock's Callaway Farm to pick some pumpkins and try out the corn maze. The corn maze had 10 checkpoints that you were supposed to find...

Lovely trees on the drive to the pumpkin patch and corn maze.

The big red barn at Shryock's Callaway Farm.

This is a custom-made gumball rollercoaster.

This is the sky view of the corn maze we attempted...

The corn maze. Or just a lot of corn.

You can tell by Steven's face just how confusing the maze was.

We found exits before we ever found any check points.

One of the check points - we found #4 at least 4 times. Sigh.

We found another one!

And finally another. All of the questions were election related.

Each question had a hole punch with a different shape - so there was no cheating.

It was muddy in places. It was challenging to navigate when a huge group of kids were trying to pass at the same time.

Did you know corn stalks roots looked like this? We didn't.

After attempting a few self portraits, a nice guy offered to take one for us.

I watched the gumball coaster for a good 10 minutes. It was cool! And we only found 5 of the check points, but we walked around in there for a good 2 hours. It was windy the whole time and toward the end of the 2 hours it started getting really cold. So we aborted the mission and went back to the barn to get hot chocolate (for me) and hot apple cider (for Steven). I didn't get any pumpkin pictures, but I have carving pictures saved for another post.

We had a good time, and we plan on going back next year if possible.

I have more fall pictures to come. : )

  2. Hey! I couldn't find an e-mail address for you...I'm Amber, I had the t-shirt idea for "Water for Christmas"! I know NOTHING about making it happen BUT I know you can design and sell your own shirts/designs at cafepress.com I would love to sport one if you could help to figure out how to do it. Let me know what you think.
