Pink & Green

Drum roll please.....

I am about to show you the first set of handmade cards. This was my first graphic design 5 project, and I really wanted to create something that was me.

As a designer, I spend most of my time creating things for other people. I have to follow their direction and their vision and work my own style into their ideal design. This is challenging for some people in my class, but I think I have come close to mastering it.

For this project, I had tons of creative freedom. I designed the patterns, I carved the patterns into a linoleum block, I picked the size of the cards, the colors, the inside, the messaging, and the logo and packaging. And I think that is what most excites me about the final product. As soon as I was finished, there was no doubt in my mind that it was a portfolio piece. I haven't gotten any feedback from my professor yet, but I am anticipating good things since she was excited about it during the process.

So without further ado...

Look for the other two reveals in the next couple days.

  1. Great work Christa! I will be looking forward to the day of seeing your designs on retail shelves. You are incredibly talented and will be going BIG places. Keep up the great work.
