quilt fabrics chosen!

I picked out all the fabrics I want to use in my multi-colored quilt of awesomeness for the new, bigger, more awesome bed. It will be layered over a white duvet, when the weather is appropriate. And it won't be quilted in rainbow order... I'll be as random as I can possibly be, ha!

I picked all Amy Butler and Joel Dewberry fabrics, and they are no more than $8.00 a yard... although I won't need a full yard of each one. I was going to use some website I found, but then I discovered Hawthorne Threads (thanks to Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy). I am going to use white for the backing, and pick one to use as a binding.

By the way, purple fabric - almost impossible to find. I was willing to use a different designer, but I only found a couple and I didn't care for them much. I just made up for it by adding a couple more blues.

I decided to go ahead and order the fabric now. Since some of them are gone when they're gone, I don't want to lose out on a fabric I really like. This quilt will be much easier to piece than the other one I am working on.

I really hope it turns out how I am imagining. I can't wait to get started... or to be finished with it! I'll be sure to share the process with y'all (that's the word that popped in my head... so I went ahead and typed it, don't judge me).

  1. woo those are pretty, and the price isn't bad at all! I've been wondering where to get great fabrics. Seems like all the places in town carry the tackiest old people patterns...

  2. Thanks, Jessica! Yeah, the fabrics found locally are probably more traditional quilting fabrics... but I don't like them much. What are you looking for fabrics for?
