office baby shower

Last Thursday we held a baby shower for my co-worker M, who is due with her first baby the middle of May. She and her husband are keeping the baby's gender a surprise, so we used the nursery colors - teal and lime.

I did part of the decorations for the shower, and it was so much fun! I see tons of blog posts about tissue paper pom-poms all over the place and have wanted to try them for some time. I finally got my chance and my opinion is: try them for your next party! They were so quick and easy to make, and they made a huge difference in the look and feel of the shower. The room was so festive.

I also made a large strand of heart and circle garland we hung on the windows and behind the food table.

We even coordinated the food and snacks to match our teal and lime color scheme.

{my contribution: owl, huge cupcake, and "poof"}
{and those paper flowers were made by J, just like the ones on my desk!}

Did you see the little owl I bought for M and baby?! I think it's adorable.

It was a success! L did a great job with the games, and we all had a fun time. M took the pom-poms and the garland home with her to decorate the nursery for the baby's homecoming. There are a lot of people on Team Girl, but it might be equal to Team Boy... We are going to start a "bet" to see who can best guess the day that the baby will arrive.

I can't wait for the next occasion to make some "poofs" and cake!

  1. I love the way you carried out the theme of lime and teal and the "poofs" look great. I can't wait to try them for a party. Actually, I remember them from the "old days",but yours look so much better. I think the owl doll is really cute. You all did a great job!
