quilt update

{my best friend}

I love my sewing machine. It's a Viking Emerald 116. You can fill bobbins, make button holes, it has a built in threader, and a spot to cut the threads so I don't need to have scissors on hand. My mom and dad did the research on this and they got it for me as a christmas gift a couple of years ago. We had a fight once when I tried to sew paper, but she was just mad at me for not changing the settings and putting old/bad thread in her... :)

The quilt is going well! The pinning process is getting to me, so that's why it's taking longer than I had hoped. I've been sewing a couple strips a night. I purchased the backing and the batting... I am anxious to put it all together! I have never done it before, obviously, but I have looked at diagrams online and I have a pretty good idea.

I'm taking a break from quilting tonight to tackle a different sewing project, a small bag for my bike. I need something to hold my phone, garage door opener, and whatever else I might need, ID card? I'll take step by step photos in case you like it and want to make your own. :)

{my sewing snack... other best friend?}
