freezer paper tote bags

I have been reading all sorts of tutorials for freezer paper shirts, bags, pillows, whatever you can think of. I wanted to try it. I had some tote bags left from when I made this little gem, so I decided to give it a shot.

I wanted to make a little something for my little friends Olivia and Ava. I babysit them every once and a while, they are so cute and fun to play with. They just became owners to two of Toby's brothers and sisters! Simon and Lydia are just as adorable as Toby. : ) I was there to see how thrilled they were about the kitties, and for as excited as they were about the cats, they were just as worried for their fish! So cute.

Anyway, back to the bags!

{I printed what I wanted on the bags and traced it on the paper.}

{Then I cut the letters out.}

{I ironed the paper onto the totes and then painted in the letters.}

{Ava's bag in light pink.}

{Olivia's finished bag in dark pink.}

There are so many tutorials on this, and even instructions on the freezer paper box now, so you wont have any trouble finding directions. The only thing I wish I had was a small circle foam brush that I could have used. It bled a little bit because I used a brush instead of stippling it with a foam brush.

I even added a pocket to the inside of the bag, which I forgot to take photos of. I just sewed in a simple square pocket onto the back inside of the bag. Because every bag needs a pocket! I gave them each a little puzzle and a couple of bracelets. I hope they like their little bags!

Happy July! I can't believe it's already here!

PS: I had a post arranged for yesterday that I forgot to publish. Look out for it tomorrow!
