I had such a great time in Florida. I only had three full days, but I made the most of them! We went to the beach every day, usually right after breakfast, then we had the afternoons to hang out and relax.

{vanessa, katie, me, courtney, & kaylee}

We were there with our family friends who own a condo in Vero Beach. They were kind enough to have us for Thanksgiving. This was my first visit to the beach. Here I am with Kaylee & Courtney {our family friends}, Vanessa {kay & court's exchange student from germany!}, and my sister Katie.

It was just around 80 degrees every day, and the water was just warm enough to swim in. We even did some boogie boarding! Courtney and I even saw a shark right behind us... like 15-20 feet away. It was pretty scary. We sat on the beach for a while after that. :)

{i love this picture! the clouds are so pretty.}

On the way to the beach each day we passed Dodgertown, where the Dodgers used to have spring training. I stopped one day to snap some photos for Steven's dad - he's a Dodger's fan. {hi, scott!}

The beach has great people-watching-abilities. At our last beach visit all these young {read: high school} lined up in front of us with some kind of short surf board... not sure what they are called. They would take turns riding the waves and then take their place back in line to watch the others.

My dad actually snapped this photo. :) We didn't go in the water that day, the waves were really strong.

I can't wait to go back to Florida. Assuming our friends will have us again! It was a really nice break from the cold weather, and from work. I didn't get sunburned either! And what is better than the beach?

xoxo, christa

  1. Considering all the snow on the ground here right now I am VERY jealous of these pics!

  2. Of course nothing is better than a beach....well, maybe one little thing...having a family together at the beach....

  3. Someday I'll make it to Dodger spring training....
