holiday randoms

Steven and I had our mini-christmas last night. We ran a couple errands to get some kitty food and a few last minute gifts. Then we had a yummy dinner and some drinks at Houlihan's.

I had asked for some new socks, some really thick warm ones to wear around at home & some thinner ones to actually wear with shoes. Steven got me some really nice, warm wool socks. This pair has some fun orange support stripes. They are quite comfy. :)

I also received a fabulous pair of earrings, new pajama pants, and chocolate. Steven got an awesome 'Hold Steady' poster from the concert we went to last month, a sweater, and some other little stocking stuff. I am also going to frame the poster for him after the new year.

I don't think I ever told you about my boots. I have been searching for the perfect {reasonably priced} pair of boots for quite some time. I finally took the plunge and ordered these from JC Penney. I got them on sale. I can't find them on the website anymore, but they are a.n.a brand, with short wedge heels.

I have been wearing them a lot with my 'real straight' jeans from the Gap. They have been great in the snow too, I can just wipe them clean when I get home. And I can slouch them down further if I want a different look. Love them!

My couch is even holiday-ed up! I found the throw at Target, it is sold out online but you can search to see if your local store has it in stock. It is chenille and SO soft. It comes in solid red, solid cream, or brown and cream plaid.

It looks great with my new pillow, too. I made the pillow case with a napkin that I also got at Target. They came in a pack of two, and there is a coordinating pillow on the other side of the couch. The whole living room has a magical holiday feeling, we love it. I wish it were acceptable to leave twinkle lights up all year-round...

My parents will be here late tonight. They are staying with me and we will leave tomorrow morning to drive to Chicago. I'll be there all week for christmas and they will drop me off on their way back to Dallas. I am looking forward to the break.

I guess I had better go pack then, huh...

xoxo, christa
