happy new year!

 {I can finally share our holiday card. :) }

Happy 2011! I hope everyone had fantastic new years celebrations. Steven and I went out for dinner then returned home to the warmth and comfort of our couch. It was nice to actually be together {first time in our 4.5 years of dating}.

The only "resolution" I'm going make is that I want to cook more this year. Last year I started off really well with my weekly meal planning and almost always used new recipes every week. Then it just stopped. I enjoy cooking and baking a lot, but after working for 8 hours I feel tired and would rather put my energy toward something else.

This year I don't need to make all new recipes every night of the week, but I do want to try new ones. I am going to try to get into a good routine so that I can be home closer to 4:30 than 5, giving me a little more time for dinner prep. I would like to make one new recipe a week from my Everyday Food cookbook, or EDF magazines. I have had the cookbook for several years and only tried 2 or 3 things, despite the fact that I marked about 30 pages.
