remembering the 2011 blizzard

{our snowy window}

 In addition to my time line post, I thought I would touch on some of the other memorable things that occurred during this historic weather event. I also have a few other photos I wanted to post.

blizzard 2011 facts:
- we officially got between 17.5 and 18.5 inches of snow
- for a period of time I-70 was closed state wide
- the highest drift in our yard was taller than my waist
- the wind was gusting up to 50 mph
- there were tons of people walking up and down the street with overnight bags
- Steven and I worked on the hardest puzzle ever {it's still not done today}
- we didn't leave the house at all for 4 days
- our road was never totally plowed
- we didn't get any mail on Wednesday

{tuesday night, the snow had pretty much stopped}

{thursday morning, the 'snow gate' was up}

{toby sticking his neck out to look around}

{pretty snow drift}

{the snow drift on the side of steven's car}

{hi! look how tall the drift is there!}

{what our road looked like on Thursday afternoon}

{the snow was taller than my boots!}

{ell was lucky enough to get out for a few minutes}

There is my brief blizzard recap. :) It was certainly a weather event to remember!

  4. That is just insane!! I'm so sick of all this snow right now! I'm longing for the summer desperately. We had a lot of snow here in Germany, too.
    Hope you're all right again?! Is everything back to normal?
    XO. Nadine
