diy: doily garland

{ In honor of National Craft Month, I will be posting some inspiring projects from fellow bloggers. }

Candace from Sparkle Power guest posted this DIY garland on Smile and Wave. She made festive doily garland for the holidays, but this would be darling as a spring decoration!

This project is one that I would really like to try myself. I actually "starred" it in google reader back in December when it was first posted!

She used various colors of Rit dyes, yarn, starch, and 4 inch doilies.

Candace colored the doilies in various shades, and allowed them to air dry. After they were dry, she sprayed them with the starch to give them some shape.

Then she hot glued them to the yarn, and strung them up with some clear holiday lights!

I can see this in a rainbow of bright colors for spring and summer, and in oranges, golds, and purples for the fall. So many options!

When I do this, hopefully this month, I will definitely share my version. :)

If you have a project you would like me to share during National Craft Month, please send me an email!

xoxo, christa
