I have two causes I want to share with you today. Both of them are important to me, and I hope you'll help me pass the word!

First, today marks the start of the Purple Dress Project. My friend, and fellow blogger, Ashley is wearing a purple dress every day for the month of April to raise awareness, and money, for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. You can read more about it on Ashley's blog, and you can donate on the CCFA website.

And secondly, April is National Donate Life Month. Organ donation is something close to my heart. My cousin received a kidney transplant 3 years ago. If it weren't for the donor and their family, she might still be sick and on a waiting list.

Did you know simply checking the box on your driver's license application/renewal isn't enough? Even if your license is marked with an organ donor symbol, you're not technically registered as a donor. Each state has a donor registry, and you can register yourself on the Donate Life website. Make sure your family and close friends know that you are an organ donor.

It only takes a few minutes and you could help save a life.

So please, pass it on!

xoxo, christa

  1. What a great way to bring awareness to very important causes!

  2. Two awesome causes, I plan on letting people know about Ashley's cause next week!

As for being an organ donor, I definitely am one! I lost a friend in August and his eyes were donated which I think is just amazing. Oddly enough, my husband lost his mom when he was 16 and she too had her eyes donated.
