funfetti rice crispies

I had a lovely birthday yesterday! Thank you for all your birthday wishes!

At my office we bring in a treat to share on our birthdays {if we want}. I saw a recipe for cake batter rice crispy treats on Pinterest. And they looked amazing! But you know I have to mix it up. :) I decided to use funfetti cake mix for mine.

They are good - but I might add in even more cake mix next time. They don't taste enough like cake batter for me. :)

funfetti rice crispies
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 (10 oz.) bag of mini-marshmallows
2/3 cup funfetti cake mix
6 cups crispy rice cereal
1 container of sprinkles
Melt butter or margarine in a large saucepan over low to medium heat and add marshmallows. Stir until they begin to melt, then add in cake mix a little bit at a time to make sure it's well combined. Stir in cereal so it is completely coated with the marshmallow and cake batter mixture. Press into a baking dish {I used an 11x7 to get thicker treats} and top with the sprinkles. Let sit and cool for a bit before you cut them.

They were simple to make and are quite tasty. :)

    What's your favorite birthday treat?

    xoxo, christa
