seven links

My IRL friend Jessica {& her husband Neil} tagged me in a post that has been circulating the blogosphere. I have to answer 7 questions with links to 7 blog posts. Such a fun way to look back through my archives and evaluate my own blogging. :)

Here are my 7 links!

1. My most beautiful blog post

It's not powerful or moving, but I can still feel the emotions that I had that day. I had no idea what I would have done if I wasn't accepted into the graphic design program. I wouldn't let myself go there! What would I be doing right now if I hadn't have gotten in? Who knows! I sure am glad to be where I am today.

2. My most popular blog post

Purely statistical - I've had the most visits to this post. I have the Etsy seller who I bought my materials from to thank for that! She put a link to my post in her listing. I also get visitors who find me in google searches.

3. My most controversial post

This is a stretch. I haven't really had any controversial posts. But I did get some negative comments on the post. I removed some of them, but a lot of people thought I was cheating because I didn't take photos of myself in the clothes. At this point I was living alone without a floor length mirror or tripod. I was doing what I could!

4. My post helpful post

This post has the second number of views, right behind my coasters. I had gotten a lot of comments when I posted about my hoop art, asking me how I did it. I followed up with this post and I actually get most of my visitors from google searches. Such a popular craft right now!

5. A post whose success surprised me

People view this post every day! And if you type a couple combinations of words into google, it is the first picture in the images section. After thinking about it for a while, I'm not surprised. When I was searching to see if my reaction was normal or not I couldn't find anything! There were only pictures of super extreme tetanus cases, not a moderate reaction. It's funny because I still have a pea-sized knot in my arm where I got the shot!

6. A post I think didn't get the attention it deserved

Perhaps lack of attention is the wrong phrase, but I thought I would have more questions to answer! I'm pretty open, but there are plenty of things I don't talk about. There are a good number of people who read my little blog, but maybe they don't want to know any more about me. ;)

7. The post I'm most proud of

I am still in love with my vanilla sugar post. It's purely because of the pictures! This was the first time I was completely happy with the way my pictures turned out. I don't do much editing to my images, I like to do my "editing" before I take the picture. I took this picture on a tiny bench in my kitchen at 7:00 on a week day morning before work using the light coming in from my backdoor window. I still take pictures there! I get up early and set everything up and snap away until I have to run to work. And now that it's summer time I can use the front windows in the same manner between 5 and 6:30/7 pm. I'm so much more happy with my still life images now than ever before!

So there they are! It was interesting diving into my analytics. I had looked at them before, but only the information for a month or two at a time. I went back to the day I started using analytics to pick these posts. Quite interesting to see what has been viewed the most!

Now I get to tag a few people to share their 7 links!

1. Krysten from After I Do
2. Mere from The Babblings of Mere
3. Laura from Along for the Ride
4. Nadine from Time to Shine
5. And my new BlogHer friend, Monica from Monica Wants It

As always, anyone is welcome to join in!

xoxo, christa

  1. Oh man, I'm going to have to take some times to figure this out! Did you just scan your analytics to figure out each of your posts? I'm going to have to do this next week!

  2. Really cool idea! I want to go back and read all your old posts, the ones I haven't already read that is.
