white queso dip

Or cheese dip, as our local restaurants call it. :) This queso recipe is pretty dang close to my favorite. The mexican restaurants put it on everything... and who am I to argue with that. It makes everything just a little bit tastier. I'm glad it's so easy to make!

I recently came across two different recipes and I combined them to make mine.

white queso dip
1/2 pound of white american cheese {sliced or cubed}
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup milk {I used 2%}
1/2 Tbsp of finely diced pickled jalapenos
1-2 tsp of the jalapeno pickling liquid
1 pinch of red pepper

Put everything into a double boiler on medium heat and stir occasionally. Once all the cheese is melted, leave it on the stove for a few more minutes and continue to stir.

When it's done, pour it into a bowl and eat it all up with some tortilla chips. Or use it in your favorite mexican dishes. Tomorrow I'm going to show you how I used this for our dinner. It was oh, so good. :)

xoxo, christa

  1. Oh my gosh, you should try the soup we serve at my restaurant. It's called white tortilla chowder and it basically tastes like queso soup! I actually take it home and dip chips into it. SO GOOD.
