i'm home! {quick snap recap}

Whew! What a great trip. SNAP was a blast. I learned SO much and met some wonderfully awesome ladies. I feel totally refreshed and filled with ideas. This is a brief overview - I'll share more detailed posts about the sessions soon. :)

The conference was at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah. It was a little chilly the first day and a half, but the remaining time it was sunny and gorgeous.

I roomed with Kelsey from Poofy Cheeks and Vanessa from See Vanessa Craft. They are both such wonderful girls.

I had a little down time on Thursday morning since registration didn't start until 11. I relaxed in the hotel room, watched a little TV and did some blogging. And that was the only down time I had all weekend. :)

On Thursday afternoon, after registration and the first session, we had a two hour break. A group of us headed over to the gardens to enjoy the Tulip Festival. It was beautiful.

There were a handful of sponsors set up in the break room. One of them was Riley Blake fabrics. They had a make & take for us! We got to stitch up a little flower, add a fun button and they hot-glued a pin on for us. So fun!

Friday evening was the start of the Queen Bee Market. I got this adorable little penguin from Kelsey Bang and a few others things.

On Friday night we had a pajama party with Jacqui {craftee mcgee}, Caroline {sew caroline}, Alissa {rags to stitches}, Amy {amy cornwell}, Elizabeth {sew chatty}, Vanessa and Kelsey. We had so much fun! I loved hanging out with and getting to know these girls.

Jacqui even grew a mustache! ;)

On Saturday I took a floral arrangement session with Megan of Persimmon Floral.

It was really informative and was the first hands-on session I attended. I loved picking out the flowers and arranging them different ways. The arrangement got to come back to the hotel with me and we enjoyed it until check-out. I dropped it off at the front desk for them to enjoy. :)

And the last session I attended was also hands-on. We got to paint and peel and sand. It was really fun to see what other people came up with! I'll show you the finished product later. :)

And then, before I knew it, it was time to go home. Luckily I got to have lunch and spend a little more time with some of the girls before boarding my plane. When I got to my gate they were offering a $400 travel voucher for someone to take a later flight. I considered it... just so I could go back and spend more time with my friends! But I got on the plane.

After my three hour flight I hopped in the car and drove three hours home. Columbia, we really need an airport. Please.

I believe a great time was had by all. I'll share more specifics from my favorite sessions soon, it will just take some time to compose those and I didn't want to leave you all hanging! I was sick on Monday with an allergy hangover - sore throat, cough, sneezing, sore ears, runny nose - the works, which delayed this post... any who, more coming soon! :)

xoxo, christa

  1. Awesome pictures Christa!
It was so nice to meet you and I'm glad you had such a great time!

  2. I am beyond jealous... I've always wanted to attend a conference like this. I don't think something handmade would be good for me because I'm SO not crafty and that isn't the kind of blogger I am but I would love to attend a blogging conference someday (sooner rather than later).

  3. YAY! I'm so glad you came and had a great time! And dang girl, you picked the greatest classes! I can't wait to see what your board turned out like :) From what I saw, those looked adorable!
    See you next year! :)

  4. So great to meet you!! I'm jealous of your make and take classes, I didn't do even one :( Glad you had fun!

  5. It was so fun meeting you! I love the picture of your arrangement and I am loving your blog! So excited to start following you!

  6. this is Megan, from Persimmon Floral p.s. :)

  7. Hey Christa--it was so great to meet you last weekend! Looks like you had a great time too. I just finished up my poppy seed frame yesterday--I'm excited to see how your project turned out!
