our wedding · the ceremony

After our first look, bridal party & family photos {those posts coming up later!}, we all hopped in the limo and headed toward the ceremony and reception venue. We ate a couple snacks {I was finally hungry!} and enjoyed the 20 minute break with our best friends.

When we arrived we hid out for a few minutes to let people finish getting seated, then we went to get lined up.

I was ready to go! Definitely nervous about being in front of so many people, but very excited to have reached that point in the day.

The best man, our best friend JJ, walked my Mom to her seat. She told JJ to tell her jokes during the walk to make her smile. Seems he did a good job. :)

Walking down the isle, I just kept repeating my Mom and Dad's advice in my head... just look at Steven and focus on him and don't worry about anyone else. I am completely in love with how Steven is leaning forward in that picture above to see me walk down the isle. Focusing on him kept me calm.

Our venue is out in the country, set in the woods. The only place like it in Columbia, and it's totally gorgeous. It has a few quirks that I was worried about while planning, but I honestly didn't notice them at all during the day of the wedding.

Reading each other our personally written vows was absolutely my favorite part. We even made a very similar 'joke' about Steven's sports obsession which was awesome.

Our kiss! I was thinking we should have practiced, but that wouldn't have mattered at all. It was truly a kiss in the moment, exactly as it should be. :)

{Yay! We're married!}

And to wrap up the ceremony, the wedding party took a round of shots. Perfect way to start the party.

Ceremony Music:
Processional: Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Bride's Entrance: A Thousand Years by Christina Perri
Recessional: San Francisco by The Mowgli's

{I will post links to all vendors & purchased items on my last 'our wedding' post}

xoxo, christa

  1. Okay I don't know if it's because I'm going through planning right now and am totally sappy or what, but a few of these made me tear up!
